PALPATION OF CHEST

The examiner starts palpation of the chest. She feels for the trachea to determine tracheal deviation. She then palpates the anterior chestchest wall to determine if there are malformations. She then determines tactile fremiti. She also goes to the posterior aspect of the chest for further palpation. She also tests for expansion of the chest and ask the patient to breath in and breath out. She does further tactile fremiti.
