Compact bone

Compact bone contains characteristic Haversian canals and concentric rings called Haversian system. Lacunae are holes within this system inhabited by bona fide bone cells called osteocytes. There are three types of cells in the bone.

Differential diagnosis:  It is possible to confuse yellow elastic cartilage with bone. But note the Haversian system which is characteristic of compact bone
