Organ of respiration which is invaginated by the pleural cavity. It is paired and also extramediastinal.

Arteries

Blood supply to the lungs and the bronchial tree are via the pulmonary artery and bronchial artery respectively. The pulmonary artery divides  with the bronchi and they lie on their posterior surfaces. They anastomose with branches of the bronchial artery. The arteries are therefore as follows

Veins correspond to the above arteries

Nerves

These are branches from the pulmonary plexus
