Causes Diagnosis Management
  • Isolated injuries to the pelvic cavity or girdle causing displaced or undisplaced single fractures, mostly through fall in sports. For example, horse riding.
  • Severe violence to pelvis as in fall from height or being run over by vehicle which cause displacement of fracture.

  • Single undisplaced fractures are treated by rest from sports and no weight bearing with use of crutches for 4-6 weeks.
  • Single displaced fractures can be treated with surgical excision of small fragment.
