  • Direct and indirect injuries to knee which is not severe enough to rupture ligaments, synovial membrane and intra-articular cartilages.
Ligaments include

Ligamentum patellae

Oblique popliteal

Arcuate  popliteal

Tibial collateral

Fibular colleral

Anterior cruciate

Posterior cruciate

Transverse genual

 

Intrarticular cartilages

Medial meniscus

Lateral meniscus

 

 

 

 
  • Aspiration of fluid in injured knee
  • Compression bandaging of knee for at least 3 weeks.
  • Early quadriceps exercise.
