in the young child.

on outstretched hand.

be complicated by Volkmann's ischemic contracture of forearm due to arterial
spasm.

Distal
and smaller fragment is usually displaced backwards and upwards.

Reduction
with care so that the displaced fragments do not rupture the
brachial
artery. After reduction, attention must be
placed on the observation of the radial pulse for 48 hours. Elevate the arm
during their period to reduce edema.

Use
padded plaster back slab with the elbow immobilized at 90o for
3-4 weeks.
