Occipital lobe

One of the four lobes of the cerebral cortex associated with vision. It is placed posterior to the parietal lobe and separated from it by the parieto-occipital sulcus and recognized on a coronal section by the presence of the cerebellum at the inferior aspect of the section. The cerebellum does not appear in coronal sections of temporal and frontal lobes. Only a little appear in parietal sections.
