Alcohol dementia


Alcohol induced dementia in which there is associated malnutrition affecting mainly thiamine and other B vitamins. These may then cause cerebral damage for no known reason. It may progress to Wernicke's encephalopathy and a variant in Italian drinkers of red wine called Marchiafava-Bignami disease.
