Necrosis

 

Death of tissue or cell caused by irreversible injury. It is characterized in the cell by denaturation of protein and also the digestion of organelles and other cytoplasmic components. Four types of tissue necrosis are recognized as follows- coagulative, liquefactive, caseous and fat necrosis.
