Causes Diagnosis Management
  • Injuries to radius may occur as a result of fall on outstretched hand
  • Common in young adults
  • May occur with fracture of shaft of ulna.
  • Palpation
  • X-ray
  • Reduction
  • Alignment must be complete for adult fracture, but in the child, this is not very important
  • Immobilization at 90o flexion of elbow.
  • Full circumference plaster covering elbow and wrist joints only.
  • Internal fixation with surgical exposure of midshaft of radius, if the closed method fails.
