Escherichia coli

 

Escherichia coli types are the main enteric gram negative bacilli. They are divided into two forms - pathogenic and non pathogenic. The pathogenic E. coli have six types as follows

Enteroaggregative E coli (EAEC)

Enteroinvasive E coli (EIEC)

Diffusely adherent E coli (DAEC)

bullet

Enterotoxigenic E coli (ETEC)

Enteropathogenic E coli (EPEC)
