Avian tuberculosis

 

This conditions is caused by Mycobacterium avium or Mycobacterium intracellulare- the two of which are designated MAC organisms.  The condition has two types of infection - primary and secondary patterns of MAC disease. The organisms  are one of the non tuberculous mycobacterium species.
