Progesterone

 

Steroid hormone (C21)produced by the corpus luteum cells during luteal phase of menstrual cycle and also the placenta. These luteal cells have been converted from membrana granulosa cells of the follicles. It influences the development of endometrium for implantation. It is derived from cholesterol.
