Post natal depression

 

A condition which occur during puerperium in which the individual who has just delivered a baby, become suddenly very clinically depressed. It is thought to be a continuum of affection caused by progesterone deficiency which follows a continuum from premenstrual syndrome (menarche) extending to pre-eclampsia-eclampsia during pregnancy and postnatal depression or psychosis after delivery.
