Estradiol

 

Definition:  Sex steroid hormone produced in the ovary mainly and also in the testis in male. A tiny amount is produced in the uterus and oviduct but it is not very well know how these affect the physiology of female reproduction.

 Abnormality : Increased in steroid secreting tumors of the reproductive tract and adrenal gland, e.g. adrenogenital syndrome.
