Anesthetic method delivered by direct injection designed to block a specific nerve or branches of branches around  the vicinity of injection. These nerve are mainly superficial nerves supplying the region to be anesthesized (e.g. digital nerves supplying digits) or regional nerves (e.g. common peroneal nerve for the leg.
