Retrograde ejaculation

This is caused by anxiety syndrome of the sexual anxiety variety leading to ejaculation backwards into the urinary bladder rather than into the penile urethra during sexual intercourse. The mechanism is due to blockade of α1 adrenoceptors in the internal urethral sphincter and certain antiadrenergic drugs cause retrograde ejaculation. The affected person knows he has ejaculation but cannot see the ejaculation outside his own body. It is common in persons with melancholic temperament.
