P wave

This is the first electrical wave on the electrocardiogram. It is caused by spread of deplorization which passes through the atria and is followed by atrial systole. Atrial systole causes increase in atrial pressure which occurs immediately after P wave and is labeled c (non-electrical) wave on atrial pressure.

During cardiac cycle it begins at late diastasis and continues to the beginning of atrial sytole.
