Puberty

 

Period of intense development of secondary sexual characteristics which are occasioned by intense gonadal development and activity with increased production of gonadal steroids at the time of gonadarche which leads to these features. It leads to break in voice in male development of breasts at thelarche in female, menstruation at menarche in female and production of semen at spermarche in male. Pubic hair is also developed at pubarche.
