In osteogenesis imperfecta the formation of collagen is deficient. In other collagen diseases like Marfan's syndrome (arachnodacyly), fibrillin which may assist in bone growth , is deficient and may lead to abnormal tall height in addition to weakness in tunica media of the aorta which may cause rupture of aorta. Subluxation of the lens of eye ball also occurs in this syndrome caused by weakness of the eyeball suspensory ligaments.
