Vesicovaginal fistula repair

Repair of vesicovaginal fistula is performed on the anterior surface of the vagina by exposing the vaginal cavity after draping and swabbing the vagina. The repair must be performed in layers and hence posterior wall of the urinary bladder layer must be separated first from the anterior vaginal wall and then closed in separated layers.
