Neutrophilia (neutrophilia)

This is lincrease in neutrophil count above 7000/ul. It is caused by the following
  • Viral infections
  • Drugs such as steroids
  • Inflammation like myocardial infarction or polyarteritis nodosa
  • Myeloproliferative disorders
  • Metastatic malignancy
  • Stress like trauma, surgery, burns,
  • Hemorrhage
  • Seizures

 


Effect of cholesterol in diet on mobilization of leucocytes in tissue stores animated. It causes mobilization from tissues and increase in circulating leucocytes, mainly neutrophils.
