Molluscum contagiosum

Umbilicated papules which are firm and pruritic affecting trunk or anogenital regions. The papule contain cheesy material which can be expressed. There are diagnostic molluscum bodies which can be found in the umbilications. There is epidermal hyperplasia. Molluscum contagiosum is caused by a pox virus. This is caused by one of the largest known viruses.  It manifests with papule of variable sizes and number which can be expressed to obtain a cheese-like material containing a lot of viral particles.
