Leprosy Leprosy is a disease cased by Mycobacterium leprae, an acid fast bacteria. It has two types. Tuberculoid: This is leprosy of a milder variety with dry scaly skin without dark pigmentations and with involvement of peripheral nerves which is asymmetrical.
