Rickettsia rickettsi

Rickettsia is a genus under the family Rickettsiaceae which contains rod shaped, diplococcus-shaped, coccal shaped and pleomorphic bacteria which live intracellularly in arthropods such as lice or ticks. These help to transmit them into human and other hosts, causing such diseases as Rocky mountain spotted fever or typhus.
