Nervous tissue

 

Nervous tissue contains mainly lipids and cholesterol. It contains proteins such as

bullet A globulin
bullet Nucleoprotein
bullet Neurokeratin
bullet Brain derived tubulin

Nervous tissue also contains some cerebrosides such as phrenosin and kerasin. Aside from cholesterol it also contains sulpholipids. It has considerable potassium ion and its fatty acids have higher molecular weight than other tissues.

Its main neurotransmitter is acetylcholine
