This is secreted by the liver into the gall bladder. It is accumulated by secretin and bile salts. Fatty acids stimulates its secretion and so also the hormone cholecystokinin. It contains z

Others: These include proteins, lectin, urea and inorganic salts. It also contains mucins and serum proteins.

Its pH is 7.8-8.6; It is therefore alkaline, although gallbladder bile may be acidic.
