Leydig cell

 

 

Leydig cells are endocrine cells par excellence. Since they produce androgens, which includes testosterone and other related hormones they have considerable smooth endoplasmic reticulum and only a little rough endoplasmic reticulum. They also contain some mitochondria and a few ribosomes and lipid droplets
