Breast
The breast or mamma has numerous
secretory alveoli from which milk is secreted. Milk is then passed into
interlobular ducts and then to lactiferous ducts. Mamma is arranged in
lobules like the liver and pancreas.
Differential diagnosis: Breast or mammary gland can be confused with
organs which have secretory holes such as breast (alveoli),
kidney
(tubules) and pancreas
(acini).
Pancreas
has distinct islets, kidney has glomeruli and the acini
are pinkish staining in the
pancreas.
