Tonsil

The palatine tonsil has numerous lymphatic nodule with germinal centers like other lymphatic organs. But it does not have corpuscles of Hassall as in thymus or red pulp as in spleen.

Differential diagnosis: Tonsil can be confused with other lymphatic organs such as spleen, lymph node or thymus. Splenic pulp of spleen is very distinct. Thymus has distinct corpuscles of Hassall.
