Ovary
The ovary is covered with
germinal epithelium. It has many follicles in varying stages of
development. The mature follicle is called the Graafian follicle. It
releases the contained egg at ovulation. After this release, the
remaining follicle forms the
corpus luteum.
Differential diagnosis:
Graafian follicle
and surrounding peripheral primary follicles are diagnostic of the
fiovary.
