Rectum |
|
|
This is the terminal part of the gut in which the cloacal membrane which is endodermal is in contact with anal pit which is ectodem and also called proctodeum. The cloaca which is expanded receives the allantois. The urorectal septum separates the cloaca into ventral urogenital sinus and a dorsal rectum. The rectum is formed from the partition from the urogenital sinus by the urorectal septum; the posterior part of the partition. It then expands and joins the anal canal. The urogenital sinus becomes part of the urogenital system.
