Neural crest cells are budded off from the upper margins of the tube. They are very migratory and they move downwards to form many structures. Other cells, which are formed from the neural crest migratory cells, are as follows 

  • Sympathetic ganglia
  • Dorsal root ganglia
  • Peripheral nerves
  • Schwann cells
  • Carotid body cells
  • Carotid sinus cells
  • Other scattered cells in the peripheral nervous system
