Medically important Phylum Nematoda is under the Superphylum Ecdysozoa under protostomia with the Bilateria group of Eumetazoan clade in the animal group. It includes the unsegmented worms with pointed end of the body.

They have two classes

bullet Phasmida e.g. Ascaris, Enterobius, Ancylostoma, Strongylus, Wuchereria, Onchocerca, Dracunculus and filaria
