PERFORATING CUTANEOUS NERVE

 

ORIGIN: Sacral plexus (S2-3).  

COURSE/DISTRIBUTION: The nerve emerges from the pelvis by piercing the sacrotuberous ligament to reach the gluteus maximus.  It supplies the skin covering the lower and medial parts of that muscle.
 

BRANCHES:  Cutaneous branches only 

ROOT VALUE:  S2-3.
