Tunica vaginalis 

 

The peritoneal covering which surrounds the testis after the closure of the wide communication between the scrotum and the abdominal cavity called the processus vaginalis. Processus vaginalis is now called the tunica vaginalis testis. It has parietal and visceral layers so that the testis is invaginated by this tunica vaginalis. Abnormal fluid collection in the tunica vaginalis is called hydrocoele.
