They form prostatic plexus around the inferolateral surfaces of the prostate gland. The prostatic plexus receives the deep dorsal vein of penis and drains into the internal iliac veins.

Parasympathetic fibers from the pelvic splanchnic nerve (S2-4).

Sympathetic fibers have their preganglionic motor fibers from the roots T10-12, and L1-2 to relay in the aortic, superior or inferior mesenteric ganglia or on the sympathetic trunk.
