Part of the face just below the eyes and above the lips of the mouth. It carries two nostrils for respiration. It contains nasal cavities which in turn contain the following structures.

BONES: Roof- nasal bone, frontal and sphenoid (posterior) together with the cribriform plate of ethmoid.

Floor: Maxilla and palatine bones and their processes

Lateral wall: Ethmoidal and maxillary sinuses.

Muscles: Nasalis, levator labii superioris alaeque nasi, procerus, compressor naris, dilator naris

bullet

Arteries: Sphenopalatine branch of maxillary artery (main), supported by anterior and posterior ethmoidal arteries.

Veins: Angular vein and tributaries

bullet

Nerves: Branches of maxillary nerve anterior ethmoidal nerve, olfactory processes of olfactory nerve

bullet

Others: Nasal septum (cartilage), nasal cartilages
