Hyoid bone is single and strictly speaking not part of the sskull. But we shall deal with it here.

It is suspended from the styloid process of the temporal bone by the stylohyoid ligaments. It has a body and two horns, called greater and lesser horns or cornua. The two greater horns end in tubercles, which form their extremities.
