Tibia is the medial bone of the leg. It is next to the femur in length amongst the long bones. Its proximal end is bigger than the distal one. It has an upper end made up of condyles, a shaft and a lower end which carries the medial malleolus.

BORDERS: It has three (interosseous, anterior and medial) borders,

SURFACES: It has three (posterior, anterior, medial) surfaces. Its medial surface is subcutaneous; so also is the anterior border, which is called shin.
